How to get there

By airplane

Using low-cost airlines you can easily reach several Italian airports like Milan, Bergamo, Bologna, Forlì-Cesena, Firenze, Pisa and Rome. Most of these airports are easily linked with Siena: check out the "by coach" section! There is also an airport in Siena called Ampugnano; there's a shuttle bus linking it to the city.

By car

From the North (Bologna/Firenze):

Take the A1 (Autostrada del Sole) highway till Firenze Certosa exit, and then take the Raccordo Autostradale Siena-Firenze towards Siena

From the South (Rome):

Take the A1 (Autostrada del Sole) highway towards Firenze till Valdichiana exit, and then take the Raccordo Autostradale Siena-Bettolle towards Siena

By coach

There is a bus company that manages all the trips to and from Siena. You can check online the timetables and buy your tickets online which are very cheap! The web page is www.sena.it. If you need any help check out the contacts at the end of the newsletter!

From Milan

The following timetable refers to the 4th of May. The easiest stop in Milan is in Lampugnano; you can reach it by tube (line 1 or red) from every part of the city.

By train

Siena is not so easily connected with other big Italian cities; often you'll have to stop in Firenze and then change train to Siena. You can also change in Prato (from Bologna) or Empoli (from Pisa) or Chiusi (from Rome). Check the national railways web site www.ferroviedellostato.it

By bike

Good luck…

For those of you who are already planning the trip and might come before the conference, you can also find the list of contacts to which you can refer for every single question.
